Remembering the Bidwell Mansion Art Show

. Remembering Bidwell Mansion, on view from July 1 through August 29, 2025, gathers a select group of Northern California artists who offer diverse, personal perspectives on the cultural and historical significance of Bidwell Mansion.
The Bidwell Mansion Art Show at Art Etc. Gallery brings together a powerful collection of works that honor and reimagine one of Chico’s most iconic landmarks. Curated by Kevin Trivedi and Caleb Klungtvet, the exhibit features original works by nine regional artists: Tim Lehor, Barbara Batt, Chris Ficken, Carolyn McLeod, Paula Shultz, Gerald Aguair, James Aguirre, Meghan Lacombe, and Kevin Trivedi.
From intricate studies of Victorian architecture to emotional landscapes that evoke memory and loss, each artist captures a different facet of Bidwell Mansion’s legacy. The Bidwell Mansion Art Show highlights personal interpretations of this historic site through painting, mixed media, and photographic works.
“We wanted this show to evoke more than just admiration for the structure—it’s about what it means to the people of Chico,” says Kevin Trivedi. “This mansion holds echoes of the past and aspirations for the future. The artwork brings that duality to light in deeply personal ways.”
“Bidwell Mansion is more than a landmark—it’s a living thread through our local history,” adds co-curator Caleb Klungtvet. “These works invite the viewer to connect with that thread, to feel the presence of time, change, and continuity.”
Through diverse perspectives and artistic styles, the Bidwell Mansion Art Show not only preserves the memory of the historic mansion but also fosters a deeper connection between the community and its cultural roots.
