Julian Lacombe

Visual Artist

Julian Lacombe is an artist and educator dedicated to helping people of all ages unlock their creativity and tap into the imaginative possibilities within themselves. Holding an M.A. in Education from the University of the Pacific, Lacombe brings nearly a decade of experience across secondary school art programs, museum education, arts summer camps, and community-based creative spaces.

Lacombe’s teaching practice emphasizes exploration, process, and personal artistic decision-making. By fostering supportive, curiosity-driven learning environments, they empower emerging artists to experiment, take risks, and grow confidence in their own creative voices. Their approach blends structured guidance with open-ended discovery, allowing students to shape work that is uniquely their own.

When not teaching, Lacombe continues to expand their creative world through fantasy art under the moniker Moonshadow Makers Workshop. Outside the studio, they can often be found adventuring through Dungeons & Dragons campaigns, volunteering with the Stonewall Alliance of Chico, spending time with their dog Luna, or diving into a great book—always feeding the imagination that fuels both their art and their mentorship.
